Meadowrift Nursery is a neighbourhood plant nursery and garden centre on Laugavegur in central Reykjavik. We select hardy perennials, foliage plants, and container-ready shrubs that cope with cool summers, wind, and short growing seasons — without pretending every plant thrives outdoors year-round.
Our team helps you match species to balcony trays, courtyard beds, and sheltered city gardens. We favour clear labels, honest hardiness notes, and stock you can see and touch in the glasshouse before you buy.
Daylilies, hostas, and iris
Three plant families sit at the centre of our floor: daylilies for summer colour, hostas for shade and texture, and iris for structured bloom. Around them we keep complementary evergreens, herbs for kitchen pots, and seasonal bedding when the weather allows.

Steady cultivation, quiet sustainability
We buy from growers who document plant health and packaging choices. In our own glasshouse we minimise waste, reuse trays where hygiene allows, and favour peat-reduced mixes when quality holds. We do not sell miracle cures — just plants, composts, and advice grounded in Reykjavik growing reality.
